Welcome!

"Adopt a 'Do - Cute Girls Hairstyles" is primarily a step-by-step photo and video hairblog for moms of little girls with limited time in the mornings. We have simple hairdo ideas for holidays, school, church, parties, dancing, prom, recitals, cheerleading, etc. This site also includes entries about many of my passions. Aside from cute hairstyles for girls, one is adoption. Eventually, I may add something else. Feel free to search the hairdo's, grab your darling daughter, and prepare for compliments!

Video Tutorial: Twistbacks into Side Ponytail

I thought I had posted a picture of this cute hairstyle tutorial on the blog, but apparently I have not... so this is new to you!!! I really love hairdos like this because they are simply beautiful, take very little time in the mornings to complete, yet look like you spent 30 minutes doing it!

You can accessorize the do if you want, but I think this one looks even better without a flower or bow!

Twists into Side Ponytail

Funny thing, I went to Costco with my twins yesterday and a lady who saw me in the store came running out as I was loading my groceries into the car and asked me, "I do not want to sound like a stalker, but... how did you do your daughter's hair like that?", commenting on how beautiful this hairdo was.

Unfortunately I had not yet printed off my new blog cards, so I explained to her that I was one of those crazy "hairbloggers" out there and that I had just filmed a tutorial for this hairdo that morning. She couldn't wait to see it and asked me to write down the blog address, so I did.

Here's to ladies like her who are not afraid to compliment!!! I hope you will get many too!

I did this on my 3 year old today, and it came out so cute! I was so excited she let me do her hair, and I was pretty proud of myself, since I consider myself to be hair-challenged! Her teacher commented on her hair immediately! Thanks so much!

Hello from El Salvador!
I just love your blog, and loved this video so much thanx for posting it! I just have a question, maybe you can help me, my daughter has curly hair, so it is a little bit difficult to do these twistbacks and french braids because when you grab hair it gets messy and there are little bits of hair around later when it dries how can I make these (even wetting her hair) look neat while grabbing hair?
Thank you so much! you can add my country from the list you have!
Thanx!

I love your tutorials! My 4 year old and I check it every morning and I let her pick which "princess hair" she wants for the day. I've gotten so many complements on her hair, and I've been refering people to your site like crazy! Thanks for what you do! I can't wait for my 1 year old's hair to get long enough so I can do these on both my girls!

Thanks! I practiced it tonight (plan on doing it tomorrow). It took me about 3 tries to get it just right, but it looks fantastic! Thanks for the video tutorial. Your blog is my favorite hairblog by far! My daughter's kindergarten teacher compliments her hair almost everyday. I usually only use your do's.

Thanks for the video (tell your husband thanks too...looked like he was headed off to work so thank him for taking the time to video tape the hairstyle). The videos are great and easy to follow, although you do really good with your step by step pictures too. I appreciate your site so much! Just last Easter I was trying to come up with a hairstyle for my 5 year old and I was getting so frustrated b/c I'm just not creative in the hair dept. That's when I stumbled upon your site and a whole new world has opened up for us. Looking through these comments, I know I'm not the only one who enjoys these styles. Thanks for all your work. You make it look so easy -- I don't know how you juggle 5 kids and still manage to do this -- but I'm glad you do!

I'm definitely hair challenged - I see tons of stuff that I want to do but I never know how to do it, so I just avoid it. Your site, however, has helped me to overcome that and has given me tons of cute dos that I can do with my 5 year old! She loves it - she's definitely very "princess-y", and we've loved picking out new hairdos to try. I can't wait to try this twist over the weekend to see if we can do it for school on Monday. Thanks so much!

Yours is my favorite hair blog by far! Beautiful hair, but quick to do! My daughter is 3 and very wiggly, so I need it to be quick! Your videos are the best-thanks. And did I spy a CTR ring on your daughters hand? Thanks for the tutorials--keep them coming!

Adorable! I have been doing a version of this on my twins for a couple of years now. Their hair is shorter and much finer than your girls', so I twist into piggy tails. Then I loop the end of the piggy, so the excess hair falls underneath, and add little bows on top. It turns out so cute!

My friend just texted me about your blog. I love this hair do. I can see it on my little girl for her baptism, granted she's only 7 months old so I'll have to remember this one. It seems like it is simple enough with a little practice at getting the hair to stay smooth. thanks for a great blog. I haven't looked at the whole blog yet but if you don't include this then feel free to do hair style tutorials on baby hair :)

This was my first ever visit to your site. I have two sons and my little girl is the baby. She just turned 3. I remember having a list in the drawer in my mom's bathroom of all the hairstyles she could do for me. Each morning we'd pull the list out and she'd let me pick. It was a pretty long list. Alas, I lost Mom 7 years ago to leukemia, so when I realized I needed some outside guidance in the little-girl-hair-do department I turned to google search and up your lovely site popped. So, when Eleanor had dance class today, we tried the Twistbacks into side ponies, or a bun thing in this case. I watched the video twice through and got it up and into to do on the first try thanks to your skillful guidance. And sure enough…we got compliments when we got to dance class. CooL! You can bet I'll become a regular visitor. (I have a flip camcorder too, aren't they just the coolest thing?) Thanks agin!

I tried this on my daughter for school this morning and she loved it. I changed it a little cause her hair is really thick and the bun to the side made her head heavy on the one side so I left it in a down ponytail and added 3 of the 2 strand twist brades that I saw you do and addded a halloween scrunchie to it and she loved it I took pics lol Thanks again for the ideas.

I did something like this a few weeks ago....except instead of twists, I did inside out french braids (you've maybe done that style before too.....I've only been doing inside out french braids for the last few months.....after one of my twins chopped off her sister's hair). My oldest dd really doesn't let me mess with her hair very often, but I had fixed her Our Generation Doll's hair like this, so I told her she and her doll could have matching hair. That worked! Turned out sooooo cute too!
