Wrap-Around French Braid. (It would more appropriately be named a Wrap-Around Halfsie-French "Pop-Out" into a Side Pony, but we would lose people at halfsie!) A photo of the completed hairdo is seen here...
I have had a few readers ask for a video tutorial to show exactly how this hairdo is done. (Just like in French Braiding, sometimes it is better to see it done, rather than try and follow a picture tutorial.) Having just received my iFlip video camera back from a good friend, I decided to show you exactly how to create this beautiful hairdo...

That was great! I noticed that you hold your hands differently than I do when braiding, and that may be why I cannot seem to get the braids tight enough.
I also liked the fact that your husband was filming! "The family that braids and videotapes together..." LOL
Thanks so much for posting this! It's nice to be able to see it in a video rather just in pictures!
Oh, thank you so much for this!! I was just thinking on sunday after seeing your girls hair that I wish I could watch how that is done because I couldn't get it to work. I also wanted to thank you for this whole blog. I'm not creative when it comes to hair but now my little princess has the cutest hair everyday! Thanks!!
You make it look so easy! As a mom who struggles with french braiding I really appreciate you posting this video. It's nice to see how other people start the braid and how they hold it so I can try different techniques. Thanks!
Thank you! I tried this a while ago from your original post and it didn't turn out as cute, so now I want to try it again. thank you so much for all your great posts!
Mindy,
Thanks for the video. I didn't realize that this was a french braid and not a twist. I did it on my dd's hair this morning for school. It was quick and looked great! I appreciate the tween dos that you provide. My dd is getting out of the "cutesy" hair and your blog is great for her age :) Love your flowers... where are you getting them from??

Thanks for the video. I did my 10 yo daughter's hair using your tutorial, this morning. Her hair is just barely past her shoulders and I got it to work. She absolutely loved it.
Thanks for sharing all of your terrific ideas.
I love this. I used this one of my DD but just did 2 braids down her head. It looked super cute! thanks for another great hair do!
I love this hair style! I did this on my little girl who has really fine hair and it still looked great, and super easy!
Mindy I LOVE this. I did it this morning and it was so easy and so dang cute! My 3 year old loves to twirl her finger through the side pony :)
Thanks you, thank you. I have been hoping for this video and now I think I can do it. The video totally helps!!
Thanks for the video tut - it was awesome! Can't wait to try this one out on my daughter :)
Really cute hairstyle. Love the ribbon.
Not a specific comment about this style, but a question. How old is your oldest, and does she like having her hair done all fancy? Do you put bows and ribbons in her hair as well?
I absolutley loved this tutorial and the way this braid sticks out. I've been practicing it a lot. I just posted my own twist on this style on my blog at http://funfrillsnmore.blogspot.com/2009/12/cute-braided-headband-with-pigtails.html
Thanks, Amie
I love your tutorial and have been practicing - I especially like the fact that you only pick up from one side so the braid stands up. I did my own modification on my blog and linked to you @ http://funfrillsnmore.blogspot.com/2009/12/cute-braided-headband-with-pigtails.html
Thanks, Amie
sorry I posted 2x ( now 3) I missed that it needed your approval - sorry
