Bundled Braids {Video} | Braided Hairstyles

Many of you will recognize this hairstyle as one of the first hairdo’s we ever published, but we never have filmed a video for it.

Bundled Braids | Cute Hairstyles

Since we do receive quite a few requests via email asking for this video, as sometimes photo tutorials are not specific enough, we decided to film this one for you all!

We love how super easy this hairstyle is to do, and how cute it looks on our little girls.  The style still works well on older girls, and moms as well, particularly if you pancake the braids into a more “loose” style.

We promise that you will get compliments on this hairstyle all day long!  {My twins started calling this braided hairstyle “The Pineapple Braid” from the time they were very little, which I also think is cute because the finished hairstyle does look quite a bit like a pineapple!}

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 5 clear elastics, 2 regular
hair bands, and hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 8-10 minutes

  1. Begin by wetting hair {if desired} with the spray bottle.
  2. Gather all hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck…
  3. Divide the hair in the ponytail into 5 equal sections…
  4. Braid each of the 5 sections separately, using a clear elastic to temporarily hold them {or you can also have your daughter hold them instead}…
  5. Once all 5 sections are braided, grab them together at the base and fold them up towards the ponytail…
  6. Secure the folded braids to the ponytail with a hair band, leaving the ends of the braid loose…
  7. Tease the loose hair ends to your liking.
  8. Add in hairspray or a ribbon/accessory {if desired}.

Enjoy!

Happy Hairdoing!

Cool! All the braids seem to have food names. Pancake, pineapple, I’m guessing the next one is popsicle.

Hey! I just wanted to pop in and say OMG! I found your site by chance in January of this year and it inspired my daughter and I to do one funky hairdo for every day of the week for a year (we’ll see how that goes…) and so far, so good! I just wanted to let you know that I am using your styles and ideas and that as a hair idiot (I REALLY am), you have made me look unbelievably cool. Thank you so much. If you ever want to see our daily hairdo updates as we adopt your do’s, feel free to visit.

  11. I am so glad I found your site. My daughter is 6 and I used to fix her hair all cute when she was little… but now that she is “older” in her opinion… she needs an “older” hairstyle. I had no idea what to do. So, LOVE your website and LOVE your daughter showing my daughter how even bows and ribbons are cool. :O) Thank you… you have a fan!!!

Very cute, I have taken my daughters hair and put it in a pony tail, then I divide it into 3 sections. I take the three sections and braid each one. After I have completed the three braids I then braid them together to make one huge braid. When finished it looks similar to your 5 strand braid. We always get lots of compliments and people try to figure out how we did it. So simple and cute.
