As an initial note, this is actually a 3rd-day hairstyle on my daughter…
On Day 1, she had used a high twisty bun, then removed it on Day 2 to leave subtle curls with a pullback on top, and this ponytail style what we used on Day 3…
My girls and I have been wearing this ponytail hairstyle for a few months now after seeing it on Pinterest. Just the other day, I uploaded a photo on Instagram of me wearing this ponytail when I was in LA a few weeks ago. Our fans there loved it!
This easy pony hairstyle incorporates a pullback {pompadour} on top and French-braided sides that are brought up with the remaining hair into a high ponytail…
I then took a small strand of hair from the ponytail and wrapped it around the elastic band, for a cute hair-wrapped pontail.
You will find that this pony hairstyle is perfect for cheer, gymnastics, other sports, or simply to wear around any day!
I receive emails all the time from moms who love ponytails, but are looking for cute ways to spice them up! This will do it, and you will receive compliments all day!
Enjoy!
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 large hair elastic, 3-4 bobby pins, hairspray and accessory {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 5 minutes
Skill Level: Medium
Happy Hairdoing!

I have seen a lot of beautiful half-up/half-down hairstyles floating around this Fall, so I think they are going to be very “on trend” for this season.
I invited a very good friend of mine from YouTube, Andrea from AndreasChoice to help me out with this style. She is a beauty and fashion guru on YouTube with nearly 900,000 subscribers! Thanks, Andrea, for helping me!
This messy fishtail braid is very easy to create, and looks even better as a second-day ‘do after twisty buns, pin coils, or braids the day before!
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 2 small hair elastics, 1 large hair elastic, hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes
Skill Level: Medium
Steps:
To add an even more disheveled look, carefully cut the first elastic out of the hair. This will loosen the top of the messy braid and leave your hair looking more loose and less styled.
Believe it or not, these messier looks are getting quite popular on the fashion runways this season!
This half-up/half-down hairstyle is perfect for girls of all ages, and is sure to bring lots of compliments!
Enjoy!
Happy Hairdoing!

Comment on this post »Over the past few months, we have received so many requests for hairstyles that it is hard to accommodate all of them. We wish we had time to do all of them, but with six children who are my highest priority… it is difficult to find spare time.
What we do find, however, is that there may be a reoccurring theme among the hairstyle requests…
We have had quite few Facebook posts or emails asking for hairstyles from The Game of Thrones TV series on HBO. We do not watch HBO, but many fans have sent in photos and I have to admit some of the hairstyles are super cute!
{Note to readers: This is not a show that we will watch in our home, simply because we do not agree with its content. We also would not advise anyone under the age of 18 to view it either, since it apparently contains mature content and themes.}
From an emailed photo of a hairstyle worn by the character named Sansa, here is what we are calling this the ”Double French Braid & Twist”…
Steps:
We added volume to the hair with a curling wand beforehand, simply to add more texture to the hairstyle. It was only on the top layer of the hair, with the underlying hair “as is”.
This would be a perfect 2nd-day hairstyle if you had braids or curls in your hair from the previous day. It is so simple to do, as long as you know how to French Braid, and will certainly have people asking you how you did it!
Enjoy!
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, two elastic bands, hairspray, and curling iron {if desired, for texture}
Time Requirement: 5 minutes
Skill Level: Medium
As another side note, my hubby and I officially entered a video application for The Amazing Race! I have been trying to convince my husband to apply with me ever since season #1… but he finally gave in and decided to do it this year! The Amazing Race has been my dream for several years now, so if you happen to know someone at CBS {or know someone who knows someone}, please let them know to look for us!!!
Thanks, and Happy Hairdoing!

Comment on this post »If you are like me, you’ve noticed that everyone in Hollywood {in TV, movies, etc.} is talking about the comeback of braid hairstyles.
Simply flip through magazines, catalogs, or beauty websites and see them there, too! Everyone is wearing braids and the best thing is that there are a million ways to wear them!
One of my very favorite braided hairstyles uses a small, added flair to a simple braid… what everyone is calling a Simple Messy Braid. This is the perfect second-day hairstyle {after curls the day prior} for a quick rush out the door.
I’ve received so many emails requesting a video for this hairstyle. One of our most loyal fans even asked 10+ friends to all email me within a few hours each asking for this style! I swear we have the best fans! Well, it definitely got my attention and my girls and I decided to make this our next tutorial.
Items Needed: Brush, comb, ponytail holder, hairspray {if desired}
Time Required: 2 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
Step-by-Step Instructions:
