I hope you all remembered to wear your GREEN today… and of course, your best clover hairstyles! I can only assume that there are tons of clovers walking around today because my traffic went through the roof last night! Really, I am flattered!
Look at what those naughty Leprechauns did at my house last night! They completely ransacked my kitchen!
To top it all off they hid the cereal bowls from the girls. Just look at this silly note they left for the girls…. is says, “We came, played, and hid your cereal bowls! Find them (and clean up)! Girls drool, Leprechauns Rule!”
I think the girls would have been really mad if those naughty little green Leprechauns hadn’t left some green candy with the hidden cereal bowls. Of course they didn’t leave gold since our Leprechaun traps didn’t catch them.
Usually traps stay at home, but this year the traps went to school for a school project. I hope the school had better luck then we did!
Happy Hairdoing!

This will probably be my last St. Patty’s day hairstyle. It is a four-leaf clover version of some of the past hairstyles. I didn’t take too many pictures since I knew you could refer back to this 2-leaf clover or the 3-leaf clover.
Items Needed: Brush, comb, hairspray, spray bottle, pomade, 5 rubber bands.
Time Requirement: 10-15 minutes.
Skill Level: Hard
Begin by parting hair into four sections. Now gather up each section of hair and form a ponytail. You want these ponytails to be close together. Now flip each section under. (Many of you have asked where to find the *Topsy-Tail Tool* I use to flip the ponytials without torturing your daughter. This link should help.) As far as which way to flip the ponytails, flip the bottom two straight outward and the two top ponytails at an angle…
Now divide each section into two parts and twist them tight. Combine all the ends together and add a rubber band. (Add ribbons or accessories where desired)…
Happy Hairdoing!

Comment on this post »Ok, so I was thinking about St. Patrick’s Day hairdo’s and it occured to me that most tweens or teenagers aren’t going to want a huge shamrock on their heads.
But they still want to celebrate the spirit of St. Patty’s day. So I came up with a couple of simple, easy tween versions. This is the first. We’ll call this the “Slide-Up Braid” hairdo. It’s SUPER easy and look’s adorable on girls of all ages!
Items Needed: Brush, comb, spray bottle, 1 rubber band, and hairspray.
Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes.
Skill Level: Easy
Begin by brushing hair. This DD has very straight fine hair to begin with so I quickly ran a flat iron over it to flatten any bed-head waves. But you can do this hairdo with long, straight, or curly hair. You can do it on short, but it’s a little harder just because you do not have much hair to work with. Part the hair on left (or right if that is your DD’s natural part)…
Section off a small chunk of hair right next to the part…
Apply a little pomade or spritz lightly with water (just to keep down the frizz). Form this hair into a LOOSE braid. You don’t want this as tight as you can do it… it needs to be a medium loose. Not crazy loose either – just look at the picture…
When you get the very end of hair instead of adding a rubber band hold the MIDDLE piece of hair with two of your fingers…
Now using your free hand, slide the rest of the braid upward. The braid will naturally slide upward along the middle strand and gather up near the roots of her hair…
Now, pull the braid slightly downward again until you think it lays right. The braid should look somewhat lace-like…
Rubber band the end of the braid. If having one piece of hair hang out of the rubber band longer bugs you simplye twist that hair up and then rubber band it all in. I never mind since I think it just sort of blends into her other hair. It’s a very cool look that seems really difficult to do – but we all know it’s a snap!
To make it festive for St. Patty’s Day, simply add a cute green ribbon. I found my ribbon in the craft/ribbon section of Walmart for $1.00. The ribbons says “Shaking my Shamrocks” which I thought was very funny and appropriate!
Happy Hairdoing!

Comment on this post »This hairdo is very similar to Lucky Do #2 below except that this is the 3-clover version, and different from Lucky Do #1 because this one is from three ponytails instead of one. This one happens to be my personal favorite.
Items Needed: Brush, comb, spray bottle, hairspray, 4 rubber bands, and any accessories.
Time Requirement: 10 minutes.
Skill Level: Medium
Begin by parting hair about 2 inches above ears all the way around the head. Pull this hair back into a ponytail and secure with rubber band. Now part remaining hair into two sections by parting hair right down middle of head. Pull both into ponytails and secure with rubber bands (you should now have three total ponytails, one on top and two on bottom)…
Flip all three ponytails using a topsy-tail tool (flip the two bottom ponytails outward towards ears). Flip the top ponytail from neck to top of head…
Separate each ponytail into two sections…
Twist each section outward from rubber band…
Have your DD hold sections while you work as needed. When all twists are done pull the ends together forming three heart shapes. Secure all ends together with one rubber band…
Add ribbon or a flower if you desire…
Happy Hairdoing!
