So many moms ask about the styles that I wear as I film hairstyles on my daughters, and how to do them. When I think about styles for the site, I pretty much only think about hairstyles on my girls. But that should not mean that I should only think about them, right? Moms are important too!
For those of you who asked, this hairstyle is the one I wore in the Lace Braid hairstyle tutorial we uploaded a week ago. I must have received at least a dozen emails about my hairdo, so here it is!
The style is simple to do, and helps keep your bangs out of your face. Plus, you can do it in only a few minutes before running out the door in the mornings!
Items Needed: Rat-tail comb, brush, 4 bobby pins, 1 hairband, hairspray (if desired).
Time Requirement: 5 minutes

*Note from Mindy: Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Let’s see how many V-day hairstyles we can get out on February 14th! Tell as many friends as you can, because we want to see thousands of little hearts walking everywhere!
There are actually two ways to finish this heart hairstyle, one by using twists as I have done (better for older girls) and the other in braids (popular with little girls). Both are equally cute and provide just a little bit different of a look.
Items Needed: Rat-tail comb, spray bottle, Topsy Tail Tool, 4 hairbands, Pomade or gel (if needed), two Valentine’s Day ribbons.
Time Requirement: 5+ minutes.
Skill Level: Easy

Comment on this post »Interestingly enough, I found the idea for this hairstyle from an article on 2011 Hair Trends which highlights the new trends in high fashion being various forms of twists! They found that Prada, YSL, and Blanc de Chine are all using twist hairstyles in their Spring 2011 fashion shows. Even neater, the author features one of our oldest twist styles from YouTube.
I have always loved using twists in my hairstyles and have many of them listed on this website. What I love about this particular style is that it has a very modern look to it, and it can be used for pretty much any occasion (Prom, Homecoming, ballet, weddings, formal events, etc).
You can actually twist the front section any direction you want, as each provides a little bit of a different look.
Items Needed: Rat-tail comb, brush, water bottle, two hairbands, hairspray.
Time Requirement: 5 minutes

Comment on this post »Hi everyone! Many followers here and on YouTube have asked which hairstyle it was that I used on my #2 daughter in our Family Intro video. Honestly, it is very similar to another style we did only I completed this hairstyle with a braid instead of a topsy-tailed pony.
This is a very simple hairstyle that is perfect for girls of all ages, including moms! In order for you to see the style in 360˚, I provided the following views…
Items Needed: Rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 2 hair bands, hairspray (if needed), accessory (as desired). Here is where I found the cute folded-fabric flower hair accessory.
Time Requirement: 5+ minutes
