Double-Twist Hearts | Valentine's Day Hairstyles

*Note from Mindy: Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Let’s see how many V-day hairstyles we can get out on February 14th! Tell as many friends as you can, because we want to see thousands of little hearts walking everywhere!
There are actually two ways to finish this heart hairstyle, one by using twists as I have done (better for older girls) and the other in braids (popular with little girls). Both are equally cute and provide just a little bit different of a look.
Items Needed: Rat-tail comb, spray bottle, Topsy Tail Tool, 4 hairbands, Pomade or gel (if needed), two Valentine’s Day ribbons.
Time Requirement: 5+ minutes.
Skill Level: Easy

I love it! My daughter actually hates to have her hair done, but maybe if I tell her it’s a heart for Valentines day she will actually let me try this one out.

I stumbled across your blog from an ad I saw on youtube and can I just say thank you so much! I have 3 little girls under 4 (id twins like you!) and I am hopeless at doing their hair. I was raised by my Dad who did his best but fancy was a braid with a ribbon lol.
I watched this heart do after my middle girl Mim (2yo) saw a pic and just had to have it. I perfected it first go! I did different variations in all 3 girls hair. It was so easy! I All day people have been commenting on how great it looks. Can’t believe someone like me could do something so impressive

I’ve been reading your blog for almost a year now and I did this hairdo this morning for my daughter. When I went to pick her up from school ALL of the teachers in the school stopped me and complimented me on it! They thought *I* was the creative one – I informed them that I learned what I knew from a website

I did this for my 6yo daughter at school today and it was a HUGE hit!! I am really not good at hair, but my daughter’s is now almost to her waist so I have had to learn! Thanks to your site I can now French braid and have learned all kinds of cool and easy styles that even I can do. Although will admit that as I don’t have any children i’ll be doing the hearts in my hair….and i’m nearly 24 haha!
I try to do my sisters’ hair every now and then and let them pick out their own styles, so we went online today and tried this website. We were browsing the styles and one of them immediately loved this one. I thought it would be impossibly hard (me being only 13), but I watched the tutorial and tried it myself and it turned out well! I took a pic and showed it to my friends and they loved it! I’ll have to redo it tomorrow in her hair for church! Thanks!

I thought this was done with braids (it had been a while since I watched the video) and so that was how I did it. It turned out so cute. Lots of comments.

I ran across your site on Pinterst and I just have to say thanks for the cute idea and the helpful tutorial. My daughter _thrilled_ to show off her fancy Valentine’s Day hairdo to her kindergarten class. She had a dentist appointment after school and the staff took pictures of her hair!

The first day her teacher sent me an email in the middle of the day telling me how adorable her hair is. She told me that she sent her to the principal’s office just so all the ladies in there could see her hair. Apparently the heart-do was the talk of the school. My daughter was so proud and excited, and I felt wonderful to be able to give her the style behind it all. I used to be hair incompetent, but you have been a life saver to me!!
