Single Front Twist | Short Hairstyles

Here is a very simple and cute hairstyle idea for keeping your bangs out of your eyes. It can also be done on any length of hair (short or long), whether or not there are layers, and can be done in under a few minutes.

I have promised that I will be adding more short hairstyles, given that I and my youngest daugther have short hair. Again, since the hair is shorter, you really are limited on what you can do in terms of braids, etc. Moms, this one really is for you! I wear this all the time!!!

  4. Okay, this is totally gonna sound super dramatic, lol, but here goes: this hairstyle has changed my life as a mom!!!! I have been trying to grow my 2 yr old daughter Eden’s bangs out…and it is suuuuch a pain, her hair will NOT grow! I’m running out of ideas! I never knew how to french twist/braid until I stumbled on this blog on Pinterest! Amazing! I just ran w/her to the bathroom to try it out and it looks beautiful! Can’t wait to try it for church tomorrow! Seriously LOVING your blog, thank you thank you so much for helping this hair-impaired mama!!! <3

  5. I am really excited about this site. I am a hair illiterate mom of a 6 year old. I have been trying this one for the last hour. This is my first one ;). I can’t figure out the simple french twist part at the beginning. This is how helpless I am lol. When you say that it is a french twist because you add a little hair in to the front piece and then twist, I can’t see how you do that. Sooo how do I do that? No matter what I try it’s not looking like yours. Help! Thanks so much for doing and showing all these cute styles!

  6. I tried this today and I got SO many compliments! I have always struggled doing my hair so your website is essentially heaven sent so I can get out of my rut of straightening and then ponytail. Thank you! Love all your ideas!

  13. Hi!
    I am from India.
I just love all the hairstyles on this site. 🙂
However being an Asian I don’t have that straight hair texture. My hair are a bit wavy.
Can you please tell me some quick daily hairstyles for me.By the way my age is 28.
I thought you might need it for suggesting me some hairstyles.

  14. Thank you SO much — my 8-year-old is growing out her bangs, and we are running out of ways to pull them back while in that in-between stage! She has very straight, very slippery hair that doesn’t hold barrettes or clips very well, so we resort to braiding or twisting almost every day. It was fun to add the front twist to our repertoire! 🙂

  15. I love this hairstyle, especially for me, but the bobby pins won’t stay in my hair without showing like that. I have long hair and lots of it, but it’s fine, so there’s not a lot of hair to anchor to and the ends majorly poke through. Suggestions, Mindy? I’ll take em!

  16. Thanks for sharing this one, it’s so cute! I have boys but have been following your blog looking for stuff that I can do to my hair! I can’t wait to try it!
