  1. Start by parting your hair down the center.
  2. Divide off a section hair on a diagonal from the front towards the back of the head.   Secure that section at the back of the head with a small elastic.
  3. Repeat step 2 on the other side of the head. (Make sure both ponytails are in line with each other.)
  4. Pick up one of the ponytails and create a fishtail braid.  (Divide hair into two pieces.  Take a small piece from the outside of one strand #1, cross over and combine with strand #2.  Now take a small piece from strand #2, cross over and combine with strand #1.  Continue to alternate back and forth until you reach the bottom.)
  5. Go back and pancake your braid by gently pulling on the edges to add volume.
  6. Create fishtail on ponytail #2.
  7. Pick up your two fishtails and tie them like you are going to tie the first half of a knot.  Secure with bobby pins.
  8. Pick up one braid, tie it into a knot by itself and secure to one side with bobby pins.  Make sure to tuck ends under and pin.
  9. Repeat step 8 on braid #2.
  10. Finish with Hairspray {if desired}.

  1. Section off the front of your hair from the ears>forward.
  2. Place all of the hair from the ears, back in a temporary ponytail.
  3. On one side of your part, pick up a small section of hair and divide into three pieces.  Begin a dutch french braid.  Take the back piece and cross under to the middle.  Now take the front piece and cross under to the middle. On the next stitch you will pick up a small piece of new hair and add to your outer strand before you cross it under.  Continue braiding towards that back of the head at an angle. Once you run out of new hair to add in, continue a three strand braid all the way down and secure with an elastic.
  4. Go back and pancake your braid.
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 on the other side.
  6. Release your temporary ponytail from its elastic.  Take the top half of that hair and secure with a small elastic.
  7. Divide the back hair (including the top ponytail hair) into three pieces and braid all the way down your hair.
  8. In the back, wrap your braid around itself to create a bun at the nape of the neck.
  9. Tuck in the ends of the braid and secure with bobby pins.
  10. Once your bun is secure, go back and pull on the edges of your bun/braid to give your bun more volume.
  11. Pick up one of your braids from the front and drape it across the top of the bun.  Secure with a bobby pin.
  12. Pick up the other front braid and repeat.
  13. Wrap the ends of your braids around and tuck under your bun.  Pin in place with bobby pins.
  14. Finish with hairspray {if desired}.
