Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 5-10 minutes

Skill Level: Medium

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  1. Pick up a section of hair on top of your head at the crown.  Twist once and pin.  Carefully pull on the edges to create a little more volume.
  2. Go back to the front of your hair and pick up the remaining front (bangs).  Divide into two pieces of hair and create a fishtail braid.  Keep braiding until your fishtail is long enough to reach the opposite side of the head.  Go back and pancake your fishtail and secure with a small elastic.
  3. Repeat step 3 on the other side of your head.
  4. Take one of your fishtails and pull it across the back to the opposite side.  Pick up a small piece of hair where you want to secure your fishtail.  Join your small piece and fishtail and secure with a small elastic. Once your braid is secure where you want it, you can pull out the extra elastic at the bottom of your fishtail.
  5. Repeat step 4 with the second fishtail.
  6. Just below your cross point at the back of your head, pick up two small sections and add a small elastic to create a ponytail.
  7.  Create a flip with your ponytail by bringing the ponytail up and through the center of your two pieces.  Then pull your tail back down.
  8. Pull on the edges of your twist to give it more volume.
  9. Repeat steps 6-8 two more times.  You should have three pancaked twists.
  10. Finish with hairspray {if desired}.
