Unicorn Half-Up | DIY Halloween Costume

The unicorn is a breath-taking animal.  Who wouldn’t want to be described as rare, beautiful or majestic?  There was something very magical the day we filmed which left us so excited to share this magnificent hairstyle with you!Unicorn Hair | Cute Girls HairstylesUnicorn Hairstyle | Cute Girls HairstylesUnicorn Half-Up | Cute Girls HairstylesUnicorn Costume Hairstyle | Cute Girls HairstylesOut of all our Spooktorials, this one might be my very favorite! We used temporary hair color spray from Sally Beauty.  (We used white on Brooklyn).  I loved that it had a shimmer added to the color.

Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes
Skill Level: Easy

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  1. Begin by creating a part down the center on the hair.
  2. Pull hair up into 2 high ponytails.
  3. Working with the first ponytail, section off 1/3 (bottom) hair.  Run a flat iron over this 1/3 section for a very straight piece.
  4. Pick up the 2/3 (top) portion of the ponytail and create a regular 3-strand braid and secure with a small elastic.
  5. Pull the outer edges of your braid to create a nice full/fluffy braid.
  6. Leave your 1/3 straight piece down, take your braid and wrap it around the ponytail elastic to create a bun.  Tuck the end under the bun and secure with bobby pins.  (Your bun should sit on top of your straight piece helping it lay flat against the head).
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 on other side of the head.
  8. Spray hair with temporary hair color spray {if desired}.
