Rather than buying things to make us happy, we prefer to create memories with our children.Traveling with Kids | with Colette ButlerUnfortunately, there is no easy way to travel with so many kids. For today’s #MomMinute on The Mom’s View, we invited my good friend, Colete Butler, another famous mommy YouTuber who herself is a mother of 5 young children.

A viewer asked the following question, “What are the best places to travel with your kids? What are some tips for traveling with kids?KidsTravelTogether, we discuss each family’s best practices for how to travel with kids. {Nope, our girls do not practice hairstyles on each other when we travel. Just like all families, we have bickering and unplanned potty stops!}

I have to say, I learned a lot from my discussion with Collete, and know that you all have great ideas, too!

  1. in my family we also do the thing where you name state capitals, but a fun twist on that, especially when your on long road trips is to find the state license plate. whoever finds the calls it out, and that person as well as the first person to call out the capital wins a small prize.

  2. I have three kids and a small car. I love the Find-it’s, We bring a few and they hunt for the objects in the Find it and there are always a few items that can never be found and it keeps the kids busy for a while. If you have a bigger car such as a mini van or SUV, one with a big back seat, you can take the organizers that go over a door and place them on the back of the seat(s) and place items in there for the kids to keep them busy during long trips. I used to do this and it worked out great, just remember to refill the goodies. That way you do not have to give your child things they can help themselves and stay busy.

  3. Hi Mindy! My family has eleven kids, which makes traveling so expensive that the only vacations we have had have been camping, so I love hearing about other peoples vacations. could you make a video about the vacations you and your family have had?
    Keep up the good work!

  4. Hi Mindy, I am only 12 but being the oldest of 3 (soon to be 4) These will help with car rides:-) Thanks for everything!!!
