Double-Hidden Braids | Cute Hairstyles

August 11, 2010

Our children will soon be going back to school, so many of you will likely want quick and easy hairstyles for those upcoming mornings! This style is good for girls of all ages, even moms!  You can keep the part in the center like I did, or offset it a bit to one side.  For a more volumenous effect with the hair, use this as a 2nd day hairdo from our Double French Braids hairstyle tutorial…

Double Hidden Braids (Front)

Here is a view from the side. Notice how the braid goes under the hair, essentially hiding it?

Double-Hidden Braids (R Side)

Items Needed: Rat-tail comb, spray bottle, small elastic band.

Time Requirement:  3-5 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

With my two oldest girls getting closer to the teenage years, they are wanting less and less the “little girl” hairdo’s. Fortunately I still have two little daughters left, so you will be getting a mixture of age styles. Let me know what you think!

Happy Hairdoing!

  1. i looove your videos!!!
im 10 and i was wondering if you had any hairstyles for shoulder lenght or a little below haistyles that i can also put a fancy clip into?
    thanks for making videos!

  2. I love all your hairstyles. You got me into hair accesories and such. Lol. Thanks for sharing and thank you for the entry. :-)

  3. I welcome hairstyles of ALL ages! Even moms! Some of us lose touch with the outside world and it seems like all we know are dirty diapers, time outs, and Disney songs. It would be nice to know how we can do our hair on those rare night-on-the-town occasions and not be 2 decades behind:)

  4. Very cute! And I am excited that you will be doing more older girls hair styles too, my oldest daughter is growing up to and doesn’t want the “cute girly dos” anymore :( Thanks!!

  5. I have been following your blog for some months now! I really love it! I have two daughters. Older is almost 4, younger turned 1 in May. I am getting many great ideas! Thank you!

  6. Mindy, I love your very clear videos! I’m learning on a 3 yo granddaughter with long, fine hair – I hope I’ll be better at hair by the time she’s old enough to care how it looks.

It’s helpful to me that you are showing a range of ages – and I appreciate your tips about what is appropriate for the littlest girls. I’m brand new at this, so really appreciate all you can teach me.

  7. I love this! My girl is 8 years old and doesn’t want all the fancy stuff. But she isn’t old enough to fix her long thick hair. This is perfect. Keep these coming!
