OK, girls, many of you have expressed that you LOVE our hairstyles, and would like to see some of the more complicated hairstyles done on one’s self.
Perhaps one of the more complex hairstyles is the Waterfall Braid, and so many YouTube viewers have left comments wanting to know how to do this if you do not have anyone to help you with it. What I love about this style is that it can be done on short hair (like mine) as well as long (my daughters).
I do this hairstyle on myself all the time. It is very possible to do this braid by yourself, although it may take some practice. Don’t be upset if it doesn’t turn out perfectly the first time… it may take a few tries. I decided to film a tutorial to show you exactly how I handle the stranding as well as the falling pieces in this waterfall braid.
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, one hair elastic or 2 bobby pins, hairspray or accessory {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 2-3 minutes
Skill Level: Medium

It’s so funny that you posted this! The night you posted the video of you demonstrating this hairstyle on your daughter, I practiced on my own hair to see if I could get the hand movements down. It looked great! I’d love to see more things for Moms and daughters, too.

I was wondering what this hairdo would look like if you did the braid inside out or if it would work at all. I’m only 13 years old and have no sisters so I do my hair on barbies but barbie heads are too small for this hairdo!
Hi! I’m 24, and I don’t have kids but I do your styles on myself all the time. And I love this one, but I never really know how to end it. Do you think maybe you could post some pictures of the back of your head after you do this, or maybe some ideas how to finish it off?

i cant find a basic french braid video i have the idea but my little girls hair i so fine and thin it dont tighten i am not sure exactly if i am doing it right

this hair style is amazing and even looks pretty on a fifteen year old girl like myself. it took a while to understand at first, but once i got the hang of it, it’s much easier. i have ethnic hair, my mother is Caucasion (white) and my dad is African Amerrican and Italian, so sometimes my hair is too corse to do anything with at all. but this idea works great. [:
i am 10 years old and my mom can absolutly not do hair!!!! i tried to do this one myself and still could not get it!!! is there somthing eisier that looks liike this but that i can dod myself? thank you!!!

i agree with claire my mom cant do hair(in a cool thing) i recently turned 11 and try new things my mom dosent even have time to do my hair and i really wanted to do this.my sister wont, she only straightens my hair, and my dad is . . . well, my dad, a dad.you know???

omg so hard for me although it could be that im young cause im in like fourth grd so my mom bet me i couldnt do it and i did but… on my doll and she said NO ON YOUR HAIR! I found this link on pinterest. I’ve never been good at doing my own hair(I’m 32). I watched this video twice and was able to do this! Thank you soo much, now I have a fun new hairstyle for fall.
I think the key for me was making sure that I start the braid off w/ the top most strand.

I love trying new hairstyles on my two daughters! Thanks for the great ideas! I tried the waterfall braid on my ten yr old this morning. It was easy and looked beautiful! Her hair is very fine, though, and the braid came loose the top. Any suggestions on securing it?
