Wrap-Around Dutch Pancake Braid | Cute Braided Hairstyles

These Pancake Braids {braids that are flattened by simply tugging on the elbows of the braids}, led us to create this flattened version of our Crown Braid…
My oldest daughter wore this braided hairstyle on the Anderson Cooper talk show in NYC last month, and we received so many comments from people all day long.
We knew we had to film this hairstyle tutorial when people stopped us all the time to ask how we did it!
{You will have to forgive my daughter’s pink ears and cheeks in the video, as the previous day their school held a Renaissance Fair outside on a sunny afternoon!}

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, one hairband, hairspray {if desired}

I have actually had a hair dresser ask me to do her hair for one day when I was taking out my duaghter’s before getting it cut. I love this website and all these hairstyles! i go on here everyday and practice on my american girl doll, ( my sister gets kind of annoyed when i ask her if i can do her hair at least 5-7 times a day!) i wish i can meet you in person so you can teach me all these other wonderful hairstyles! The thing is, I love this hairstyle. It’s cute and its fun and I think everyone shoud wear it. I know how to do an awesome dutch braid too, so thats not really the problem. The two problems are these:
1.) My hair is short and barely sits on my shoulder {therefore being hard to pancake the ends}
and 2.)When I try to pancake the top, the puffs dont come out big. My hair is really thick too, but that doesnt change anything. They barley puff):!Please give me some tips!

I love the wrap around Dutch Pancake braid! You are really good at hairstyles and have a real ‘gift’ at doing hair! You have wonderful daughters and they are very lucky to have a Mum like you to do their hair! I can do this style on myself, although I can not seem to be able to braid the fringe and front of the hair very well! Do you have any tips for braiding the front on yourself?

hey Mindy! first of all i wanted to say that your hairstyles are amazing and that you are extremely talented!!! but i have a question. i love to do hairstyles on myself and i cant get it to go around my head itwill fall back or get scrunched up i do know how to dutch braid though.
