Have you been looking for a new hairstyle for school?  I have a simple and cute Criss Cross Ponytail that you will love! This hairstyle is perfect for a wide range of occasions from school to a fancy event! This ponytail is a super cute way to jazz up a simple ponytail.  It is perfect for those days you are in a hurry to get ready.  All you need are a couple of elastics to get started.  The more practice the better you will get at creating this cuteness.  To see your own photo recreations of this style featured in our app, feel free to tag your photos on IG with: #CGHCrissCrossPonytail

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, topsy tail tool, 2 small hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  1. I started by adding wand curls to Kamri’s hair.  {optional}.
  2. Next, section off some hair from about the middle of the ear to the other middle ear.
  3. With your small section of hair, divide it into two pieces and clip them each to keep them out of the way temporarily.
  4. Now with the top section of hair, create a ponytail and secure with an elastic. I pulled and created fullness at the top for a softer look. You can backcomb, tease, or add texture spray to get a little more volume to your ponytail.  Adding the curls will also add to the pretty texture of the hair.
  5. Your ponytail should be sitting about the middle of the ears. I also left out a few wisps in the front for a soft boho look.
  6. Pick up your topsy tail and place it about 1/3 of the way in from the outside of the head on one side of your ponytail.
  7. Pick up the bottom piece of hair (you clipped out of the way previously) OPPOSITE from the topsy tail.
  8. Pull the bottom section through the topsy tail and pull down through your ponytail.
  9. Repeat steps 7-8 on the other side.
  10. Now secure all of the hair together with a small elastic.
  11. Go back and do any tweaking to the ponytail.  You might want to loosen your criss cross a bit to cover the elastic.
  12. And last, add hairspray {if desired}.
