Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 9 small hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 5 minutes

Skill Level: Medium

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  1. Begin by sweeping hair over one shoulder.  Divide hair into two even sections.  I like to also pull a few wispy pieces out to frame my face.
  2. Begin a normal fishtail and do about 5-6 fishtail stitches.
  3. Now add a small elastic to each of the two separate sections.  This helps keep them divided which creates the bubble effect.
  4.  Do 5-6 more fishtail stitches.
  5. Add another small elastic onto each of the two sections.
  6. Continue to repeat these steps over and over until you run out of hair.
  7. Secure the last section together with an elastic.
  8. Pancake or stretch the hair to add volume and softness to the overall fishtail.
  9. Loosen the top of the hair near the crown to add volume.

  1. So unique, I love the style! You could also do it by flipping the hair in each bubble (like you do with a topsy tail), I think that would also look really cute!

  2. I know it’s a weird tging to say but apart from the hairstyle, the thing that I love the most are your shoes! They’re gorgeous!

  3. Watched this video when you posted it. Fell in love. Your channel is my go to when needing to find a hairstyle to tryout.

  4. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  5. At first glance I didn’t really like it, but now that I see the details of it, it is quite interesting!

  6. I tried this on my hair today and I got a lot of compliments on it. Definitely going to keep using this one and it’s so pretty

  7. I absolutely love the fishtail combination! It’s a hassle making a straight fishtail itself on my hair so this combination will help lots!!

  8. I can’t wait to try this once my hair is long enough! I just cut it in a stacked bob in February so I have a long way to go!

  9. Looks pretty! And btw, the link to BrooklinandBailey’s twin collab channel Squared on the giveaway widget opens as a dead link for me, it says “user doesn’t exist” or something like that.
