If you are looking for Prom hairstyles, the Infinity Bun would be a perfect inclusion!

How to Create an Infinity Bun | Updo HairstylesToday’s updo hairstyle is super easy, taking literally like 3 minutes to do! {That really was the point, to create something beautiful and elegant enough to look like you spent awhile doing it, when all it took was just a few minutes.}Young girl outside modeling Infinity Bun | Updo Hairstyles (Back)

Plus, you can use the bun in any number of updo combo styles, along with accent braids, pin coil accents, pancake braids, curls, etc!

To show you how to create an Infinity Bun, we began with a simple Frenchback in the front top, and incorporated it into a high ponytail. The instructions for the Infinity Bun further below take it from there.Young girl outside modeling Infinity Bun | Updo Hairstyles

Young girl outside modeling Infinity Bun | Updo HairstylesBrooklyn wore this to a dance last week and had several compliments on it. This hairstyle is appropriate for all ages, little girls and tween on up to grandmothers – especially for activities such as formal dances, ballet, work, or everyday wear!

Also, be sure to keep an eye out for our CGH App, which will be coming out later in March! It has been fun working on the app, and makes the portability of our hairstyle tutorials to the bathroom counter much easier, and includes a place to see fan hairstyle recreations as well!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 2 ponytail holders, 6-8 bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Optional: Begin by adding curls, a braid, or twistbacks, into the ponytail to add some texture and to accent the bun…
  2. Begin by pulling hair back into a ponytail {this looks best if the ponytail isn’t too high or too low, mid head is perfect}…
  3. Now, begin twisting the ponytail counter-clockwise and slightly upward towards the top of the head…
  4. As the twist tightens, it will naturally want to twist up on itself, to use that to begin to form the left loop of the infinity bun, in a counter clockwise direction…
  5. Still twisting the hair the same direction, take it up toward the top of the head, in a clockwise direction, and begin to form the second loop, thus completing the sideways figure  infinity shape…
  6. Because the second loop will have less hair than the first, feel free to loosen the twist a little to add volume, so that the bun looks balanced…
  7. If you have left over hair ends, while holding the whole bun in place with your left hand, simply tuck them up under the edge of the original loop…
  8. As you continue to hold this shape, place bobby pins approximately every inch or so, depending on hair weight and thickness, to secure the bun firmly in place…
  9. With the bun secure, you can go back and smooth any fly aways as needed with hairspray {if desired}.
