Our Same-Side Lace Braid tutorial has been VERY popular, just passing 3,000,000 views yesterday!
Well, my 13-year old daughter, Bailey, knew it was popular, so she took it upon herself to figure out how to get a similar look… but with twists! As you can see below, she figured it out!
The technique is very similar, by adding hair only into the top, but instead of braiding the strands together, you are twisting the two strands as you go back {like a rope braid}.
Here Bailey shows us all how to create “Double” Lace Twists on herself, simply to show you how easy it can be done! {I love that my twinnies are getting creative with their own hair!}
This is literally a 3-minute hairstyle! If you like, you may begin with only one twist which is very cute as well!
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 bobby pin, 1 small hair elastic, hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 2-3 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Enjoy!

This hairstyle is so fast and simple!
I love a good rope braid {or plait} for those “Running-Behind Mornings” when I do not have much time to get myself or my girls ready before school.
My niece Aniston spent the night last weekend at my house with the twins and she has been begging me for months to film a hairstyle tutorial on her! How can I resist all of that beautiful blonde hair???
{Aniston is just beginning to learn styles on her own hair, so we agreed to teach her a hairstyle that she can recreate easily in on school mornings.}
What I love about a rope braid is that it is not really a braid at all… the only skill needed is to know is how to twist a hair strand. Simple as that! With two 13-year olds myself, helping them learn a few easy hairstyles like this is a simple way to keep them interested in doing their own hair rather than relying on only a ponytail or a headband!
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 large hairband, 1 small hair elastic,1-2 bobby pins, leather strand and hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 3 minutes
Degree of Difficulty: Easy
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Enjoy!

Comment on this post »Quick and easy, those are the hairstyles that I LOVE!!!
This one is a perfect hairstyle for those days or mornings when you have very little time on your hands. Perhaps what I enjoy the most about it is that the style is meant to be loose. There is nothing wrong with tight and crisp hairstyles, but there is just something about that romantic ‘tousled‘ look in a braid that is super cute and very trendy right now!
And… it takes no more than 3-5 minutes to complete! This hairstyle incorporates as soft, single twistback on one side that is then merged into a side braid.
We also included small snippets from our family videos this year of the kids’ in their Halloween costumes! Enjoy!
Items Needed: 1 hairband… that’s it! {hairspray and bobby pins optional}
Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes
Skill Level: Easy

Comment on this post »This hairstyle tutorial is the result of what happens when daddy is home alone with the kids while I am out of town!
Unfortunately, the video I left in reserve for our usual weekly upload has sound issues.
My hubby called to let me know, which created a perfect opportunity for him to film another one of his famous Daddy ‘Do Hairstyles! This one is called Pullbacks into Square Knot, and demonstrates perfectly his experience in scouting!
I was actually very impressed when I saw the video, that the hairstyle looked so crisp and clean! The knot looked beautiful as well, so brownie points to him for bringing you this week’s tutorial!
{Although I wasn’t quite prepared for the “surprise” action he did in the video… my daughter was trying so hard not to laugh!}
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, one hairband, 2-4 bobby pins, pomade and hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
